With Citrix XenServer v4.1 comes per server pricing instead of per socket/CPU, thus improving its pricing.
They now have over 2500 Citrix resellers and major OEM server agreements
Its new partnership with Netapp will offer very unique storage flexilibilty for virtualized desktops with XenDesktop and Netapp thin provisioning
Citrix will also leverage its Microsoft partnership against VMware; a vision of Citrix owning the virtual desktop is being developed with connections to the virtual host of your choice - VMware, HyperV or XenServer.
XenDesktop is the first viable threat as a trojan horse into VMware ESX shops
